Posted on

You get up at 6:00 A.M. (or earlier) get to bed at 11:00 P.M., or so, and in between are drug in hundreds of directions. Most days you don’t have a minute to think about doing anything nourishing for yourself. Not talking about eating right here, but about recharging your energy, de-stressing your brain, and creating mental and physical wellness for yourself.

Meditation is not chanting Monks, although sometimes the chanting is very relaxing. It is finding some time for yourself and allowing your brain to relax.

Meditation Tips:

  • Initially find 5 minutes a day, sitting in your car at lunch if need be.
  • Focus on breathing in and out, this will temporarily reset your brain.
  • Feel the air rushing through your lungs and feeding your body.
  • Will your body to relax beginning with your feet or your hands.

Once you become an expert at meditating 5 minutes, try to increase to 10 and so on. Becoming mindful of yourself, you will become more cognizant of others. It is easier to see what a friend needs when you are self-aware of your own life.

Allow your spirituality to grow. When you are one with your breath, you can appreciate the goodness in the Earth. If religion helps you is some way, that’s great. However, if just the thought of the beautiful world we live in opens your senses, that’s excellent as well.

Living simply does not mean rushing out to buy a farm, milking cows and gathering eggs. It means reducing the need to be constantly on the go, slow down and enjoy your life and family.

Meditation, wellness, mindfulness, spirituality and simple living are all doable in this go, go, go world. You have to take the time to find yourself. Remember it starts with 5 minutes a day.
